You know that feeling you get when you're standing in your closet seeing all of these clothes that look amazing on you, but realize that you’re not supposed to wear most of them because they're "out of style"? This is one reason that I hate rules in fashion; Too many flattering trends get lost in fashion oblivion.
The tunic is one of those trends that disappeared from the scene for quite some time; only making appearances at holiday gatherings to mask that tummy bulge we tried so hard to get rid of but just couldn't put the doughnuts down in time. Recently someone, somewhere in the styleverse discovered that the tunic was gone though, and luckily brought it to fashionistas' attention. Because it's back, baby!
Here's how Chictopians are styling the trend that deserves to be a wardrobe mainstay:
The XX-Long shirt-dress tunic has high side slits and a loose fit and looks best with leggings or pants. Blair Badge styles a Cheap Monday tunic with striped pants and ankle boots. See more of her look here.
Queenly Tan styles an angelic scarf hem tunic with red leather pants. The perfect mix of edgy and pretty.
The Hanh Solo pairs a classic navy shirt dress tunic with denim shorts and platforms. Casual chic!
Casual Glamorous dresses down in a striped sweater tunic, blue jeans and sneaker wedges.
Tunics work for men too! Denny_Lrsc dons an all-black look featuring a hooded tunic underneath a biker jacket with white sneaks.
